| There
are numerous local attractions
in historic Rochester, with the Cathedral,
The Castle, The Dickens Centre and
The Historic Dockyard. Furthermore,
throughout the year there are festivals such
as the Sweeps and the Dickens
Festivals, which both attract visitors
from all over the UK, as well as abroad. Open
Air concerts are held in the Castle grounds
and they finish with a magnificent firework
display over the River Medway. |

The
River Medway is the home for a number of
paddle steamers, including the famous 'Rochester
Castle'. There is also the
Rochester Marina, which is the
home for many pleasure craft.
Rochester is renowned for its many Hostelries
and Tea Rooms. The Medway Towns also have
their share of Theatres, Cinemas and Leisure
Centres. However, if you wish to 'pop' up
to London, the journey by train takes some
40 minutes and with the M2 only approximately
two miles away, London is also easily accessible
by car.
Alternatively, you can go East or South
and explore the Kent coastal resorts or
the beautiful countryside of the aptly named
'Garden of England'.
